Lucy Vera Osakwe-James is an experienced trial attorney licensed in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. She is a 1991 graduate of the Howard University School of Law where she obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree, graduating cum laude in the top five percent of her graduating class. She has interned and clerked with Judges at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and was a member of the Montgomery County, Maryland, Inn of Court. Her practice focuses on representing clients in family law including complex adoptions, termination of parental rights, child custody, child abuse and neglect, guardianships, name changes, naturalization and family based immigration. Ms. Osakwe-James is also a child welfare law specialist who volunteers her time providing legal services to various community based associations.
